Lakes Area Chorale seeks new members: Rehearsals set to get underway this Sunday, Jan. 14 at Holy Rosary

The Lakes Area Chorale community choir will begin its fifth annual season this Sunday, Jan. 14, with rehearsals set to take place every succeeding Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m., through April 8.

The Chorale's annual spring concert is set for 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 8 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes, which is also where the rehearsals will be held. For this year's concert, Lakes Area Chorale will be joined by the Cathedral Choir from First Lutheran in Fargo and Doc and the Scrubs. The concert will also feature soloists Amber Swartz-Rock and Scott Mehlhaff, and guest organist, Michael Olson The Lakes Area Chorale will be performing a variety of styles of music including Vivaldi's Gloria, Mozart's Missa Solemnis, and some big band era selections. The concert will be conducted by Lori Fiechtner Paakh, M.M., from Detroit Lakes, and guest conductor, David Ferreira, Ph.D., from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Lakes Area Chorale members are from Detroit Lakes, Frazee, Vergas, Cormorant Village, Glyndon, Dilworth, Pelican Rapids, Fargo, Moorhead, Perham, and Hawley.

The Lakes Area Chorale welcomes and encourages new members to join.
