Detroit Lakes' popular summer concert series, Tuesdays in the Park, returns to the City Park Bandshell this Tuesday, June 1 with a performance by the Becker County Dixieland Authority.
Hosted by the Historic Holmes Theatre, these 90-minute concerts will get underway at 7 p.m. every Tuesday through Aug. 31, featuring a familiar lineup of solo artists, bands and musical ensembles.
Unlike last year, when COVID-19 restrictions caused the local branch of Habitat for Humanity to cancel its Picnics in the Park fundraiser, there will once again be freshly grilled brats, hot dogs and hamburgers with all the fixings, served up by volunteers from the Fuller Center for Housing (the local Habitat organization's new name), starting at 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday.
Funds raised from the picnics will be used to bring affordable housing to area families in need, while any donations raised through the concerts will be used to support the arts in the lakes area.
Audience member can bring their own blankets or lawn chairs to enjoy the show, as on-site seating is limited.
