Food Network viewers will see Fargo as part of “Flavortown” this Friday, Nov. 13, when “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” focuses on a downtown eatery.
Pounds was one of a handful of Fargo-Moorhead restaurants host Guy Fieri rolled up to in late June while filming the show.
Other area stops in Fargo included Blackbird Woodfire, Nichole’s Fine Pastry & Cafe and Passage to India. On the Moorhead side, the show filmed in Sol Ave. Kitchen and Rustica Eatery & Tavern.
Pounds is known for its sandwiches, burgers and loaded mac & cheese. A description of the upcoming episode states: “In Fargo, N.D., a funky place is piling barbecue onto mac and adding heat to wings.”
All restaurants were under strict orders not to talk about the visits until they got the OK from the Food Network. Pounds owner Alan Kasin said he was still not allowed to talk about his experience.
Pounds announced the air date on its Facebook page Wednesday night and said its episode would be on at 8 p.m. Friday.
The post also said: “The whole experience was incredible. Many thanks to all the lovely crew & friends that helped with the process… The overly positive things Guy had to say about our food was awesome & we can’t wait to see the episode.”
The show, known to fans as “DDD,” is in its 32nd season. This is the first time it has been to North Dakota.
