Parades, band concerts, theater shows and more have been filling up the local events calendar — and there's plenty more still to come.
Though it will still have its traditional grand opening on Thanksgiving night, Nov. 24 at 4 p.m., Lake Park's 17th Annual Parade of Trees will look a bit different this year, with a new home (at the corner of State Highway 10 and County Highway 5) and an expanded schedule. It will be open on three weekends this holiday season, with the last day scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 11.
Hundreds of attendees stopped by Bucks Mill Brewery in Detroit Lakes on Saturday, Oct. 1, in search of a thirst-quenching celebration. During the inaugural Bucktober Fest event, many shared stories about what Oktoberfest means to them.
The festivities get underway Thursday night, Sept. 22, with the Lil’ Miss Pumpkin Fest Pageant at 7 p.m. in the Lake Park-Audubon High School Theatre.

Hundreds of exhibits and demonstrations, from steam threshing to blacksmithing to horse-drawn plows, are on offer during the event's four-day run, sprawled out over 210 acres of Minnesota farmland.
A nice crowd turned out on Saturday, Aug. 20 to help the village of Wolf Lake celebrate its 39th Annual Harvest Festival.

Hundreds attended Pioneer Fest in Perham on Aug. 13 and were treated to steam engines, a threshing demonstration and nearly 100 entries in the event's antique tractor pull.
The community of Wolf Lake will host its 39th annual Harvest Festival this coming weekend, Aug. 19-20, with events including a parade, mud run, obstacle course and bean bag tournament.
Organizers of the WE Fest country music festival, which wrapped its three-day run at Detroit Lakes' Soo Pass Ranch on Saturday, are already busy gearing up for its 40th anniversary celebration in 2023.
