Jesus is my answer for all my hurts and hang-ups. But far too often I find myself “going to the phone before going to the throne” for advice and counsel. Of course it’s fine to ask others for direction because sometimes we need that hug, and verbal banter. Hey this is Debbie Griffith with Everyday Matters. But I think it’s important that we seek out God first because then when we do follow Proverbs 15:22 and seek out other advisers we’re more apt to go to people who have wisdom from Him. I know I can always seek out others who will give me the words I want to hear. And I’m also quite capable of not asking anyone for advice so I can rationalize why my way is best. But I really want what God wants because He gives perfect peace.
When we know we’re loved it’s much easier to receive instruction and correction. God loves us. And in His great love for us He gives us who and what we need...everyday.
