Faribault teen injured in car-skid loader crash in Osage

The Bobcat skid loader was crossing Highway 34 in Osage. The Chrysler PT cruiser was westbound on highway 34. The vehicles collided near Byers Market.

A 17-year-old Faribault boy was injured in Osage on Wednesday when the car he was driving collided with a skid steer loader on Highway 34.

Zander Scott Fonseth, 17, of Faribault suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Park Rapids hospital, according to the State Patrol. Airbags deployed in the 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser he was driving, and he was wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the 2000 Bobcat skidloader, Kevin Phillip Byer, 51, of Osage, was not injured, according to the State Patrol.

The Bobcat skid loader was crossing Highway 34 in Osage. The Chrysler PT cruiser was westbound on highway 34. The vehicles collided near Byers Market.

The crash was reported at 8:54 a.m. on dry pavement at Highway 34 and Pine Street in Osage. The Becker County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
