New Lake Park-Audubon head girls basketball coach Kaila Capouch is excited for her opportunity to lead a promising group into a competitive Pine to Prairie Conference and Section 6A slate.
The Wadena-Deer Creek girls cross country team took ninth place at the Class A state cross country meet at St. Olaf College on Saturday. Hawley finished in eighth place, while several area athletes competed individually.
Though the weather was a little rainy on Wednesday afternoon, it didn't dampen the spirits of the dozen or so local residents who showed up for the official groundbreaking on Lake Park-Audubon Public Schools' $22 million elementary building project in Audubon. The two-year project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
The Lake Park-Audubon football team is hoping to leave some frustrating seasons in the past. Under second-year head coach PJ Peterson, the Raiders aim to get more physical against a hard-nosed district schedule.
March 16-17 at M State in Detroit Lakes, volunteer farmers and Soil and Water Conservation District personnel from throughout Becker County led sessions with local students on topics like dairy, beef, sheep and pigs as well as soils, grains and maple syrup production.
