IN THE MATTER OF ANNEXING A 1.2 ACRE TRACT OF LAND IN DETROIT
TOWNSHIP AND ZONING THE WESTERLY TRACT OF LAND “R-2” ONE AND TWO FAMILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT AND THE EASTERLY TRACT OF LAND “I-1” LIGHT INDUSTRIAL AT 18923 FRONTAGE ROAD

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Detroit Lake City Council will meet in the Council Chambers of the City Administration Building, 1025 Roosevelt Avenue, on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at 5:00pm to consider the annexation of a 1.2 acre tract of land at 18923 Frontage Road in Becker County, Detroit Township and to consider zoning such tract of land “R-2” One and Two Family Residence District for the westerly tract of land and “I-1” Light Industrial for the easterly tract of land at 18923 Frontage Road. All of these lands lie entirely within the County of Becker, Minnesota and the description such land is as follows:
That portion of the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 21, T139N, R41W of the Fifth Principal Meridian in Becker County, Minnesota described as follows:
Commencing at the Northeast Corner of said Section 21: thence south, along the east line of said Section 21, 634.33 feet, more or less to the Southeast Corner of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter; thence east, along the south lines of the Northeast Quarter and the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter, 986.32 feet more or less to the point of beginning and the current corner of the Corporate Limits of Detroit Lakes; thence northerly, along said Corporate Limit line, 159.30 feet; thence westerly, along said Corporate Limit line, 347.19 feet; thence southeasterly, 27.71 feet, more or less to the west line of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter, thence south, along said west line, 39.02 feet, more or less to the easterly right of way line of Trunk Highway 59, thence southeasterly, along said right of way line, 106.05 feet more or less to the south line of the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter; thence east, along said south line, 295.99 feet more or less to the point of beginning. Total area = 52,300 sq. ft. or 1.2 acres Parcel #’s: 08-0330-000 and 08-0337-000.
The annexation will be by Ordinance and the City has received a petition for annexation from 100% of the property owners in the area.
This matter will also be discussed at the Planning Commission Meeting on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at 6:30pm in the Council Chambers and the Community Development Committee on Monday, September 9, 2019, at 5:00pm in the City Conference Room.
