National Honor Society at LP-A inducts new members
Junior and senior members of Lake Park-Audubon High School's National Honor Society welcomed 24 new members at their annual Induction Ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 24 at the LP-A High School Theater
The National Honor Society is a national organization that invites students to apply for membership based on four criteria: Scholarship, Character, Service, and Leadership.
Once inducted into NHS, students need to maintain a minimum 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and maintain a high level of character. In addition, members need to participate in a minimum total of 14 hours of service each school year and model leadership in their school and community.
Returning NHS members at LP-A include: Jacob Anderson, Alexis Briard, Claudia DeBlieck (president), Rachel Grandek, Brianne Huesman, Trevor Loberg, Bailey Mattson, Elijah Noel, Grant Pederson, Blake Polejewski and Parker Weyer.
New inductees include: Seniors Charisma Francis, Garret Frank, Hailey Fullerton, Amy Lundstrom, Maria Miosek and Isabel Vareberg; juniors Melissa Asplin, Angelica Ballard, Kevin Bjorgan, Carlie Ecker, MacKenzie Ehlers, Elise Grabinger, Shayla Hendricks, Justin How, Lindsey Knutson, Kailee Lefebvre, Chloe Leno, Alan Lubbers, Jack Mattson, Andrew Neumann, Sanden O'Connell, Morgan Schmitz, Shadaisa Stalberger and Jayda Swegarden.
With 11 returning members and 24 new members, the total of 35 members set a new NHS membership record at LP-A. Services planned for the current school year include: Assistance at the Lake Park Pumpkin Fest, fall and spring blood drives, food baskets for Thanksgiving, and Treats for Troops. Cheryl Hogie is the advisor for Lake Park-Audubon's NHS chapter.
