Bosnia lecture set Saturday at Hjemkomst

The Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County announces their History Lecture Series, which will be held on select Saturdays January through May 2011 at the Hjemkomst Center.

The Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County announces their History Lecture Series, which will be held on select Saturdays January through May 2011 at the Hjemkomst Center.

Each lecture will focus on different topics surrounding immigration, including German-Jewish and Mexican immigration, Germans from Russia, and more.

The next lecture is set for this Saturday, March 5 at 2 p.m., in the Hjemkomst Center ship gallery theater with Dr. John Cox, professor at North Dakota State Univresity. Cox will be discussing "The Creation and Re-creation of Bosnia." The event is free and open to the public.

The HCSCC collects, preserves, and presents the history and culture of Clay County and the region.

The HCSCC also provides interpretation of the Hjemkomst Viking Ship and Hopperstad Stave Church Replica, and hosts traveling exhibits in 7,000 square feet of temporary exhibition space.

The HCSCC is a community resource for 150,000 people in the Fargo-Moorhead metro area and serves an average of 40,000 visitors a year from all over the world.
