The Ministry of Jazz returns to the ITOW Veterans Museum on Saturday, Feb. 6, with an 8 p.m. p.m. concert of Dixieland music guaranteed to lift your spirits and banish the wintertime blues.
The group features some of the best jazz musicians in the area. They perform weekly for conventions, dinner parties, holiday parties, wedding dances and as the host band for the Fargo Ramada's "Jazz Night at Basie's."
Ministry of Jazz includes Kathie Brekke on keyboard and vocals, Harley Sommerfeld on sax, clarinet and flute; Kent Karch on bass, John Pederson on trumpet and flugelhorn, Ed Christianson on valve trombone and Joe Riewer on drums.
The concert begins at 8 p.m. following the annual volunteer appreciation banquet of the Friends of the History Museum of East Otter Tail County. The banquet will begin at 6 p.m. with a social hour. Dinner and the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets for the concert are available at the door for $12. A combined ticket for both the banquet and the concert is available in advance for $25 by calling 218-346-7678, 218-346-7676 or via e-mail at museum@eot.com .
