Sold-out crowd of 3,500 for Jake Owen at this year's Music on the Mountain

The Saturday, July 2 concert at Detroit Mountain Recreation Area included music by headliner Jake Owen as well as openers John Morgan and George Birge and a gathering of four area food trucks to cater to the crowd.

DETROIT LAKES — It was a sold-out crowd that gathered on the lawn at Detroit Mountain Recreation Area on Saturday, July 2, to hear music from headliner Jake Owen as well as special guests George Birge and John Morgan .

Besides a full evening of Music on the Mountain, attendees could also enjoy meals and snacks courtesy of four area food trucks: Wood Fire Pizza , Slim Piggins , Mother Cluckers and Adibon .

The annual fundraiser concert Music on the Mountain supports capital improvements at Detroit Mountain Recreation Area. Past events have supported the build and expansion of the Landslide Tubing Park, adding an additional snow-making well to increase winter snow output, as well as paving the road into Detroit Mountain Recreation Area.
