Join the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County (HCSCC) at the Hjemkomst Center for the 4th annual Viking Village 2010 celebration, Saturday and Sunday, July 17-18.
Saturday's celebration runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., while Sunday's event takes place from noon to 4 p.m.
Viking Village is a public celebration offering Viking-age crafts, demonstrations and other activities educating visitors about Viking family life, as well as sampling Viking-era food, blacksmithing, battle demos, kids' activities and more!
Viking roasts (beef and pork) will also be available from Carnivore Catering. In addition, Guy Paulson will be doing a carving demonstration in the Gokstad Viking tent.
New to Viking Village this year are attractions such as coin striking, Icelandic horses, a warp-weighted loom, cooking demos and runic readings, as well as replicas of a Gokstad Viking Tent and Viking bed.

Ticket prices are as follows: Adults $8; seniors and college students, $7; youth ages 5-17, $6; children under age 5, free.
This event is sponsored in part by the NDSU Medieval Society, The Arts Partnership, Radio Fargo-Moorhead, and the Hjemkomst Center. The project is supported in part by a grant from the North Dakota Council on the Arts, which receives funding from the state legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
