A gospel festival called “Love DL” will be happening at the City Park Bandshell in Detroit Lakes on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 14-15, from 5-8 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy an evening or two outdoors.
The festival will focus on the love of God and will feature ministry by Evangelist Tom Shanklin of Mankato, Minn., along with praise and performances by local musicians David Bakke, Katie Baker, and area youth.
Shanklin ministers within the United States as well as internationally as the leader of Tom Shanklin Ministries , an interdenominational evangelistic ministry dedicated to taking the gospel to the world through evangelistic events, healing services, training, local church ministry and media.

At the Love DL festival, Shanklin will present a message on the love of God.
"We welcome you to bring the whole family," he said. "Come and receive prayer for your area, your family, and yourself.”
Baker will lead a time of praise and worship along with area youth. Bakke, of Lake Park, will deliver a blend of encouraging folk, rock, and blues songs that honor God. Bakke is a singer, songwriter and worship leader who travels to churches and communities around Minnesota, the Dakotas, and Ontario, Canada.
