A Cass Lake man made his first appearance in Becker County District Court on five charges Monday.
District Judge Thomas Schroeder set bond at $10,000 against Charles Braman, 41, of 19584 Mission Road. His next court appearance is May 1.
Braman is charged with felony motor vehicle theft, felony fleeing a police officer, gross misdemeanor second-degree driving while impaired, gross misdemeanor second-degree DWI-test refusal and gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation.
According to the court complaint, a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service law enforcement officer observed a motorist driving erratically on a Becker County road Thursday. The officer followed and was joined by several other Becker County law enforcement officers. They were eventually able to stop the car, which was allegedly driven by Braman.
Braman has four DWI convictions, according to court records.

The maximum penalty for the charges varies between one year in jail and/or a $3,000 fine to five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
