3 new deputies join Becker County Sheriff's Office

They were were ceremonially sworn into office by Sheriff Todd Glander on Tuesday, July 6.

Three new Becker County deputies -- Kyle Hanson, Nicholas Daniel and Wyatt Tollefson -- were ceremonially sworn into office Tuesday, July 6, by Sheriff Todd Glander. The ceremony took place during the Becker County Board meeting.

Tollefson, 27, grew up in Moorhead, and his law enforcement training was completed at M-State and Alexandria Technical and Community College. Prior to joining the Becker County Sheriff’s Office, he was a court bailiff in Beltrami County, and he served about eight years in the military.

Hanson, 24, grew up in Marshall, Minn., and worked in law enforcement part-time in Roseau County, before joining the Becker County Sheriff’s Office. He completed his law enforcement training at Bemidji State University, and his hobbies are hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. His father is also a deputy sheriff.

Daniel, 24, is from Eagan, Minn., and lives in the Park Rapids area. He earned a four-year degree in criminal justice from Bemidji State University and did his skills training at Alexandria Technical College. He went on to work at the White Earth Tribal Police Department, where he was employed for about 18 months. His hobbies are hunting and fishing.

The new deputies are filling vacancies created by retirements at the Sheriff's Office.
