County Road 22 closed at Highway 59
The west leg of the Highway 59/County Road 22 intersection is closed and will remain closed until the completion of the roundabout project.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation planned to maintain access from southbound Highway 59 to westbound County Road 22 during the current stage of construction. However, the number of motorists driving past the "Road Closed" barricades has created an unsafe situation.
All vehicles accessing County Road 22 and County Road 17 from Highway 59 must now use the detour about one mile to the south.
When a road is closed, it is illegal to drive around or remove cones, barrels or other barricades. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail.
