The Ice Harvest 440 Vintage Snowmobile Races, held this past Saturday on the ice of Little Detroit Lake, was deemed a huge success according to organizer Jeff Jasperson.

"We had really good attendance," he said, by both racers and spectators. "We estimate that there were between 600-650 people there throughout the day, based on ticket sales and racer participation... and we got a lot of rave reviews."

Hosted by Central Minnesota Pond Racing, the event served as the finale to this year's CMPR points race, with the championship trophy being awarded at ceremonies held that evening at Shorewood Pub.

"Hub 41 also did a great job of catering the event," Jasperson said, referring to the food that was served out on the ice.

"We definitely plan on bringing it back next year," he added.
