Teen injured in Highway 10 crash in Audubon
A teenage passenger was injured in an accident Thursday morning on Highway 10 in Audubon.
According to the State Patrol: Merlin Louis Anderson, 79, of Detroit Lakes was eastbound on Highway 10 in a 2013 Dodge Journey.
He avoided a near collision on eastbound Highway 10 that forced the Dodge Journey through the median and onto the westbound shoulder. The Dodge attempted a U-turn and hit the right side of a 2015 Chevy Impala driven by John Andrew Wagenaar, 74, of Nevis.
A 17-year-old passenger, whose name and city of residence was not included in the State Patrol's news release, was asleep in the back seat of the Impala and was transported to Essentia St. Mary's Hospital with neck pain. Airbags did not deploy in either vehicle. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
The crash was reported on dry pavement at 10:09 a.m. Thursday at eastbound Highway 10 and County Road 11, Audubon.
