Kermit M. Bjorlie will turn 100 years old in early April. He still proudly states that he was in the US Army Aircorp, Pacific Theater. Bjorlie was a P-47 aircraft pilot during WWII. His hometown was Pekin, North Dakota, and during the early years after WWII he and his wife, Ruth, lived in Mahnomen. Bjorlie was a graduate of NDAC/NDSU and has lived for several years in Zumbrota, Minn. 1 / 9
David Ohman grew up in Dent, Minnesota. He makes his home in Detroit Lakes and has been happily married to Kathy Ohman for 48 years. He spent 22-plus years in the army.2 / 9
Commander John B. Quinlan spent part of his time growing up in Fargo and has spent vacation time with his sister, Sarah Seuntjens, and her family on Lake Melissa outside of Detroit Lakes. Quinlan was a naval aviator who flew 55 combat missions, including Desert Storm, Southern Watch and Iraqi Freedom. He passed away a little over a month ago on Oct. 4, 2018 from cancer. He will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery next year. His widow and three boys reside in Norfolk, VA. 3 / 9
Major James W. Maurer who spent some time in Fargo raising his family, still has some family living in Detroit Lakes. He started out as an Airborne paratrooper in the Army, becoming a physician serving in Honolulu at Tripler Army Medical Center. He now lives in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl. 4 / 9
Corey Pemberton from Mahnomen served six years in the Army National Guard as an 11 Bravo for 2-136 Bravo Company Bearcats. He is currently living in the Twin Lakes Area, MN. 5 / 9
Warren Stoll served in the Air Force as an airplane mechanic. He is a lifelong resident of the Frazee and Detroit Lakes area and is one of 17 siblings. Stoll, along with five of his brothers, served in the military. He has four children, 12 Grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. He is his family's hero.6 / 9
Darrell Drewes was born and raised in the Frazee area and currently lives in Snellman. Drewes served 10 years in the US Navy as a 1st Class Boilerman. He did two tours of duty in Vietnam - USS Constellation, Gulf of Tonkin. 7 / 9
A1C Hans Jordet has just graduated from Security Forces training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He is currently serving at FE Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Jordet was born and raised in rural Frazee.8 / 9
Alan Roy, deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2009 with the 1st Cavalry Division, and continues to serve as a Captain in the US Army Reserves. He is from White Earth Reservation and a graduate of Detroit Lakes High School.9 / 9
