Local ADK chapter offering scholarships to area students
The Minnesota Alpha Theta chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, based in Detroit Lakes, has begun accepting applications for its 2019 scholarship award program.
The program offers two $750 scholarships to area students who are in their final year of high school, or are currently juniors in college, majoring in education. Any high school student interested in applying should contact their school guidance counselor to obtain an application and further information about the requirements. College students may obtain an application and further information by contacting local ADK scholarship chair Carol Lewis at 218-483-1042. Applications need to be completed and returned by May 1.
The Minnesota Alpha Theta chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa is an international honorary professional organization for women educators engaged in teaching, administration or some specialized field of the teaching profession. Their goals are to sponsor scholarships; to promote world understanding; and to further and maintain worthy community projects in relation to education and charities. Since 1983, Alpha Theta has awarded over $29,000 in scholarships to recipients majoring in education.
