Firefighters extinguished the blaze in about 90 minutes, according to Nelson, who said Frazee crews were able to save the rest of the home with help from the Detroit Lakes, Vergas and Wolf Lake fire departments.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation but Nelson said it was likely caused by an old air-conditioning unit that had malfunctioned.

Officials said no one was home at the time of the fire and no one was injured.
