Detroit Lakes graduates and sisters, Emma and Anya Butzer, will be appearing on KSTP-TV news tonight, Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., said their mother, Jane Butzer.
Emma, who graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 2010, and Anya, a 2014 graduate, both live and work as nurses in the Twin Cities. They’ve been working with COVID-19 patients at busy healthcare centers there, and administering vaccines at COVID-19 vaccination clinics.
Coincidentally, Anya was recently able to give her older sister Emma her first dose of the vaccine.
Their brother, 2008 DLHS graduate Bryce Butzer, wrote a blog about his sisters' experiences, which is posted on the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota website. Bryce is a senior public relations specialist for Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Emma is a nurse practitioner at Boynton Health in Minneapolis, Jane said; Anya is a registered nurse who works on a COVID-19 “rule-out” floor at Fairview Health. Jane and her husband, Andy, have lived in Detroit Lakes since 2000.
