A 17-year-old Frazee girl was airlifted to Sanford Hospital in Fargo with an apparent spinal injury after an early morning crash Sunday, Aug. 12, in Otter Tail County, the sheriff’s office said.
The girl, who was not named, was southbound on County Highway 4 around 2:15 a.m. when she said she may have fallen asleep.
Her Chevy Suburban left the west side of the road near 345th Avenue close to Vergas and became airborne, landing in a yard. The sheriff’s office said she complained of “severe back pain.”
She was initially taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s hospital in Detroit Lakes but then flown to Fargo.
Vergas Rescue and the Perham Fire Department assisted in the rescue.
