Two Deer Creek residents hurt in T-bone crash near Wadena
Two Deer Creek residents were injured in a two-vehicle crash on slippery roads Saturday on Highway 29 near Wadena.
According to the State Patrol, Donald Clarence Gedde, 84, and Alice Alegts Gedde, 78, both of Deer Creek, suffered non life-threatening injuries and were taken to Tri-County Health Care in Wadena.
They were traveling westbound on Highway 29 in a 2015 Ford Edge (a mid-sized crossover SUV) when they were T-boned by a 2004 Chevy Silverado pickup truck that was traveling southbound on Otter Tail County Road 75 and slid through the intersection.
The driver of the pickup truck, Christopher Ray Kennedy, 35, of Clarissa was not injured. All three people were wearing seat belts, and airbags deployed in both vehicles. No alcohol was involved in the crash, which was reported at 1:23 p.m. Saturday on snowy-icy roads in Compton Township, Otter Tail County.
The Wadena Police Department, Wadena Fire and Ambulance, and Tri County Ambulance service all assisted at the scene.
