Detroit Lakes teens okay following crash on Highway 10
Several Detroit Lakes teens are all reportedly doing fine after a two-car collision on Highway 10 in Lake Park Sunday evening.
According to the state patrol, a 17-year-old Detroit Lakes boy whose name was not released, was taken to Essentia St. Mary's Hospital.
The report states that a 2005 Volvo S60 was traveling eastbound on Highway 10, near County Road 1 in Lake Park, when it was unable to stop for a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta that was turning south on County Road 1.
The Volvo crashed into the passenger side of the Volkswagen. The Volkswagen left the roadway and struck a stop sign before coming to a rest in the east ditch of County Road 1.
The driver of the Volvo, Benjamin Philip Stearns, 17, of Detroit Lakes was not injured.
Two other passengers in the Volvo, Samuel Marcus Spry, 18, and Sarah Alexandra Bolar, 17, of Detroit Lakes were also not injured.
All four people involved in the crash were wearing seatbelts.
The crash was reported at 8:18 p.m. on dry pavement at the intersection of Highway 10 and Becker County Road 1 in Lake Park Township. The Lake Park Fire Department, Becker County Sheriff's Office and Essentia Ambulance assisted at the scene.
