Vergas woman injured in Highway 10 crash

A Vergas woman was injured in a two-car collision this morning (Tuesday) on Highway 10 between Frazee and Perham.

Irma Jean Sonnenberg, 73, of Vergas was taken to the Perham hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

The driver of the other car, Dustin Dean Clark, 33, of Fargo was not injured.

Both vehicles were eastbound on Highway 10.

Sonnenberg was driving a 1996 Chevy Blazer, had entered Highway 10 from County Road 60, and was accelerating when she lost control of the vehicle on ice.

The Blazer spun out in front of a 2013 Ford Explorer driven by Clark, causing a collision that ran the Ford off the road into the median. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. The airbag deployed in the Explorer, but not in the Blazer.

The accident was reported at 7:58 a.m. on icy-snowy road conditions in Gorman Township. The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
