Three hurt in three-vehicle crash Sunday morning in Waubun
Three children suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a three-vehicle collision Sunday morning on Highway 59 in Waubun.
The injured were: Odin Monroo Latour, an infant; Kerian James Rea, 11; and Jasmin Rea Slagle, 7, all of Foley. All were taken to a Fargo hospital for treatment. All were in seat belt restraints and all were riding in a 2006 Buick Rendezvous driven by Heather Danielle Slagle, 30, of Foley. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was not injured. It's not known if the airbag deployed in any of the vehicles.
The accident occurred as a 2005 Ford -150, followed by the Buick Rendezvous, were both travelling south on Highway 59.
The Ford F-150 slowed to take a left turn at 300th street when the Buick Rendezvous rear-ended the pickup truck, then deflected toward northbound traffic and side-swiped a 2015 Ford Expedition, which had been travelling north on Highway 59.
The Expedition was driven by Tiffany Marie Kirkrvold, 30, of Detroit Lakes. She was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
There were four children in the Expedition: Brooklyn Grave Kirkrvold, 9, Ella May Kirkrvold, 7, Haylie Marie Kirkrvold, 4, and Kylie Jave Kirkrvold, 9, all of Detroit Lakes. All were wearing seatbelt restraints and none of them were injured, according to the State Patrol.
The driver of the Ford F-150 pickup truck was Kyle Monroe Latour, 28, of Foley. He was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
The crash was reported at 9:54 a.m. on dry pavement. The Mahnomen County Sheriff's Office and White Earth Tribal Police Department assisted at the scene.
