Three people were reportedly injured in an early afternoon crash today at the intersection of U.S. Highway 10 and Summit Avenue in Detroit Lakes.

According to Detroit Lakes Police Chief Steven Todd, a Jeep was northbound on Summit trying to cross Highway 10 when it collided with a van that was westbound on Highway 10 approaching Summit.

"The front end of the van collided with the passenger side of the Jeep, causing the Jeep to flip onto its side," said Chief Todd. "Three people were transported by EMS to the emergency room at Essentia Health St. Mary's, with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries."

Todd said both vehicles were sufficiently damaged that they had to be towed from the scene, but he did not believe any criminal charges would result from the crash.
