A Parkers Prairie man died in a collision with a semi Wednesday afternoon on Highway 210 near Underwood in Otter Tail County.
Jacob Paul Gappa, 30, of Parkers Prairie was eastbound on Highway 210 when his 2013 Ford crew cab pickup truck entered the oncoming lane and collided with a westbound 1999 Freightliner semi, according to the State Patrol. He was not wearing a seatbelt, and the airbags deployed in the pickup truck.
The driver of the semi, Michael John Mallak, 45, of Melrose suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. He was wearing a seatbelt.
The crash was reported just before 5 p.m. on dry pavement at Highway 210 and German Lake Road in Tordenskjold Township.
