Two Detroit Lakes residents were hurt in a two-vehicle crash Saturday near Detroit Lakes.
Maty Rae Monson, 23, and Bryson Mitchell Block, 19, were both taken to Essentia St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes with non-life-threatening injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts.
Monson was driving a 2013 Ford Fusion northbound on Highway 59.
Block was driving a 2000 Ford Taurus that was stopped at a stop sign at Highway 59 on South Melissa Drive. He failed to yield the right of way and attempted to cross Highway 59 to go east onto 110th Street, according to the State Patrol. The Fusion collided with the Taurus on the passenger side.
Airbags deployed on the Fusion but not the Taurus. No alcohol was involved, according to the State Patrol.
The crash was reported shortly after 6 p.m. on dry pavement in Lakeview Township, Becker County. St. Mary's EMS and the Becker County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
