Three people were hurt Friday in a rear-end collision that caused a vehicle to roll into the ditch on Highway 34 in Toad Lake Township.
According to the State Patrol, a Chevy Blazer and a GMC Terrain were eastbound on Highway 34 when the Chevy Blazer came to a complete stop, to wait for oncoming traffic to pass so it could turn left into a residence. The GMC Terrain crashed into the Chevy Blazer, causing it to roll into the north ditch.
The driver of the 2002 Blazer, Jared Wayne Knutson, 31, of Duluth was taken to Essentia Health St. Mary’s hospital.
The driver of the 2017 Terrain, Sandra Kay Mclaughlin, 59, of Dilworth was taken to CHI St. Joseph’s hospital in Park Rapids. A passenger in her vehicle, Dana Earl Grina, 61, of Grand Rapids was not taken to a healthcare facility. All three suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.
All three were wearing seatbelts. Airbags deployed in the Terrain but not the Blazer.
The crash was reported on dry pavement at 4 p.m. Friday at Highway 34 and 218th Street, Toad Lake Township, Becker County.
The Becker County Sheriff's Office, St. Mary’s EMS and Carsonville Rescue assisted the State Patrol.
