ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

NOTICE TO BIDDERS: Sealed bids will be received by the City Administrator of the City of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota at the City Hall until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 21, 2006, and then at said time and place publicly opened and read aloud for the 2006 Utility and Street Improvements - Clear Creek Addition, Phase 1, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota with the following major estimated quantities:

Common Excavation 12,500 CY

Aggregate Base, Class 5 2,400 Ton

Bituminous Mixture 2,600 Ton

Manholes 160 LF

Catch Basins 8 Each

12" through 15" RCP Storm Sewer Pipe 875 LF

4" - 8" PVC Sanitary Sewer/Watermain Pipe 7,600 LF

1" - 6" Watermain and Sewer Service Pipe 1,950 LF

Concrete Curb and Gutter 7,650 LF

All bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check, payable to the order of the City Treasurer, for not less than five (5) percent of the amount bid as a guarantee that the successful bidder will enter into a contract with the City of Detroit Lakes for the work described in the proposal.

Bids shall be directed to the City Administrator, securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside wrapper with a brief statement or summary as to the work for which the bid is made.

The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for opening thereof.

Copies of plans and specifications may be obtained at the office of the Engineer, Ulteig Engineers, Inc.; P.O. Box 150, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota 56502; upon payment of $60.00 (non-refundable).
