ALEXANDRIA -- A 16-year-old Alexandria boy was injured in a snowmobile crash Sunday afternoon.
Ryan Thomas Franzen was taken to Douglas County Hospital shortly before 3 p.m. with a reported leg injury, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office, along with the State Patrol, North Ambulance and Brandon First Responders, responded to the scene of the crash, which was near the address of 12856 County Road 8 NW.
Three snowmobiles, which were driven by Franzen, and two other 16-year-old boys, Riley Albert McCabe and Joshua Alan Fearing, were traveling along County Road 8 following each other when they went down a steep ditch, according to the sheriff's office.
Although all three snowmobiles crashed into the ditch embankment, Franzen was the only one who was injured and taken by ambulance to the hospital.
