A Laporte woman was injured when her car hit a semi trailer broadside on Highway 71 near Menahga Friday morning.
The driver of the 1997 Saturn SL1 sedan, Meghan R. Templeton, 20, of Laporte, suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol. She was taken to the Park Rapids hospital for treatment.
The driver of the 2012 Peterbilt semi tractor, Rick A. Lund, 48, of Virginia, Minn. suffered no apparent injuries.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 71 and Wadena County Road 16.
The Saturn was eastbound on County Road 16 when the driver ran the stop sign, hitting the Peterbilt’s rear trailer wheels.

The Saturn was totaled. Damage was minimal to the semi trailer.
The crash was reported at 7:51 a.m. Friday on dry two-lane pavement. The Menahga Police Department and Wadena County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
