An enthusiastic crowd turned out for the second annual Becker County area Republican Fundraiser held at the Detroit Lakes Holiday Inn on Saturday, Sept. 17.
A social hour followed by dinner began an evening of fellowship and camaraderie for local conservatives.
There were approximately 100 items donated by members of the group and local interested merchants.
A spirited live auction and a large silent auction plus raffles provided entertainment for the evening.
Detroit Lakes native Jeff Johnson, Minnesota's State Republican committeeman, spoke to the group on the goals of the National Republican Committee for the 2012 election year.

Also speaking was Senator Gretchen Hoffman, who gave a synopsis of her freshman year as a state senator. Sen. Hoffman has worked tirelessly to help to reign in the excessive spending of the State.
The fundraiser provided an opportunity for conservatives to gather and generate funds for promoting conservative principles and to help elect conservative candidates in the 2012 election.
