Commissioners approved a 2.77% tax levy hike for next year at the Becker County Board meeting Tuesday.
The total levy is about $22.5 million, and includes about $8.2 million for public safety, $7.1 million for human services, $2.6 million for highway, $3.4 million for general, $1.1 million for debt service and $74,000 for recreation.
The board adopted a $58.9 million budget for 2021, and it continued the county’s half-cent sales tax, called the SMART Tax, which is designated for highway improvements and other transportation-related projects.
The five-year road improvement plan was also approved.
