Kids from around the area competed Saturday in Frazee Elementary School for Spelling Bee honors.
Becker County winners are first place, Katie Anderson, Roosevelt Elementary; second place, Montana Johnson, Rossman elementary, and third place, Ashley Anderson, Frazee-Vergas School.
District 22 winners are first place, Callea Butz, Detroit Lakes Middle School; second place, Justine Haukebo, DLMS, and third place, Katie Anderson, Roosevelt Elementary.
The spelling bee is sponsored by Detroit Lakes Newspapers, which provided medals for participation and trophies for the top three places in the district and county bees.
