Bond set at $10,000 for property damage

A Rochert man made his first appearance in Becker County District Court on three charges Monday.

District Judge Thomas Schroeder released Lawrence Moran, 48, of 41299 County Highway 26, on his own recognizance. His next court appearance is May 1.

Moran is charged with two counts of felony first-degree criminal damage to property and one count of misdemeanor domestic assault.

According to the court complaint, Moran allegedly struck a female passenger in his car on Jan. 26, and then drove to a Becker County residence and allegedly broke all of the vehicle windows with a shovel. The vandalism caused over $500 in damages.

Each felony count carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine, while the misdemeanor charge is 90 days in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.
