A Callaway woman was injured Tuesday, May 12, after the car she was driving left the roadway and rolled, coming to rest upside down in water at the edge of a pond on County Road 34, according to Becker County Sheriff Tod Glander.

Sally Cogger, 22, of Callaway was taken by ambulance to a landing zone in a field about a half-mile from Richwood, and was then flown by air ambulance to a hospital in Fargo, with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, Glander said.

Cogger was westbound on County Road 34 in a 1999 Honda Accord when the car left the roadway about 2 miles east of Richwood, Glander said. She was the sole occupant and was out of the car when the first officer arrived on the scene.

The initial report indicated she had been ejected from the car, but that has not yet been confirmed, Glander said. The White Earth Tribal Police Department is handling the investigation, and the cause of the crash has not yet been determined, although no alcohol was involved, Glander said.

The crash was reported on dry pavement at 1:08 p.m. White Earth police officers and ambulance personnel assisted at the scene. Life Link III provided the air ambulance service.
