ALEXANDRIA — A Carlos man has been charged with felony third degree assault following an incident in which he allegedly shot a juvenile with an Orbeez gun.
According to the statement of probable cause, Nevan Edward Berglin, 20, allegedly shot a student in the ear with the Orbeez gun.
The alleged incident took place in the Alexandria Area High School parking lot, the statement read.
An Orbeez gun is a toy that shoots either gel balls or soft bullets, a press release from the Alexandria Police Department read.
The victim had a clear look at the alleged shooter and identified him as Berglin, the statement of probable cause read.

The victim did go to the emergency room because they were not able to hear, the statement read.
If convicted, Berglin faces up to 5 years imprisonment and a $10,000 fine.
