Former Detroit, Mich., resident Celia M. Weissenstein, 83, of Detroit Lakes, died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at St. Mary's Nursing Center, Detroit Lakes.
Celia was born to Joseph and Helen Kubinski on Nov. 17, 1922 in Detroit, Mich., where she grew up and received her education, graduating from high school there. She then worked for American Bakeries in Detroit. On Aug. 7, 1948 she married Robert D. Weissenstein in Detroit, where they made their home and raised their family. They moved to Detroit Lakes in 2002.
Celia was a very kind, giving lady. She was very strong in her faith. She liked to travel, and also liked arts and crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Robert D. Weissenstein of Detroit Lakes; son, Robert J. (Patty) Weissenstein of Frazee; daughter, Joann (Jim) Youngs of Flat Rock, N.C.; and four grandchildren. Her parents and son, James Weissenstein, preceded her in death.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 8, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Detroit Lakes, with the Rev. Jerry Rogers officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the start of services.
