Chad J. Swedberg, 34, Ogema, died Friday, April 13, 2007, from injuries received following a shooting in rural Ogema.
Chad James Swedberg was born May 8, 1973, in Detroit Lakes to LeRoy and Carol (Platzer) Swedberg. He attended schools on Waubun and Frazee. He worked for Mark Hoban Construction of Ogema and for LaDue Construction of White Earth before becoming a self-employed carpenter. Chad married Leslie Fain on Dec. 17, 2004, at their home in rural Ogema.
Survivors include his wife, Leslie, Ogema; brothers, Ken (Lisa), Ogema, and Rodney, Fargo; sisters, Karen McDougall in Oregon, Deborah Swedberg and Sue Swedberg both of Fargo. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Jerrid Swedberg.
Chad left behind a legacy of laughter and good times for everyone who knew him. He enjoyed hunting; the outdoors and his two dogs, Shadow and Ike.

Visitation is all day Wednesday, April 18, at the Swedberg residence in rural Ogema, and at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 19, at 10:30 a.m. in Northern Lights Tabernacle, Richwood.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, White Earth.
