The Becker County Historical Society Museum hosted the grand opening of the Learning From Kids exhibit on March 1 with a room full of parents, grandparents, siblings, Historical Society Board Trustees and some honored guests, which included the Mayor Larry Buboltz and his wife, Adrienne.

The exhibit features the work of Louise Neff's second and third grade class from Rossman Elementary School.

These 22 students and their adult mentors started researching the early history of Becker County in November. There were 11 teams consisting of one second grader, one third grader and an adult mentor, who picked 11 different topics of interest.

They created a report on the findings, built a 3-D shadow box depicting that report, then came up with costuming ideas to wear while giving their oral reports.

The shadow boxes and written reports can be viewed at Historical Society through the month of March.
