Kenneth Darrell Hanna, 57, of Detroit Lakes, and Heather May Henderson, 37, of Horace, N.D., have both been charged in Becker County District Court with felony third-degree burglary.
According to court records, on Nov. 15, a business owner in Detroit Lakes reported that keys stolen from his business on Nov. 10 had been used Nov. 15 to steal coins from his laundry machines. Store surveillance photos and videos pointed to Hanna and Henderson as suspects.
Video shows the two entering the business with a small bulldog-type dog. Hanna used keys to take coins from laundry machines, and Henderson stood next to him to hide what he was doing. They left in a dark-colored sedan with no license plates.
The car was spotted later that evening at Holiday convenience store in Detroit Lakes. Hanna was arrested, and told the officer he was only at the business to do his laundry. A plastic bag containing $110 in quarters was found in the car, also a syringe, a marijuana pipe, a small bottle of brown liquid, and a small bag of what appeared to be marijuana.
A Dewalt power drill, taken from the coin laundry business in the Nov. 10 burglary, was also found in the car. Hanna had multiple sets of keys, including at least one for the coin laundry machines, according to the criminal complaint.

When Hanna was arrested at the Holiday store, a small bulldog-type puppy was in the car, and was taken to the city pound at The Marshmallow Animal Shelter. Henderson called the police about 2 a.m. to ask about getting her dog out of the pound. When she met with an officer, she was wearing the same clothes as the suspect in the video, and was arrested.
On Nov. 18, District Judge Galen Vaa set cash bail for Hanna at $250 or bond at $2,500, with standard conditions of release, or bond at $7,500 without conditions. Henderson was released without bail, under standard conditions of release.
Fargo woman sentenced after being caught with meth near Frazee
Tanya Ann Miller, 29, of Fargo, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime.
According to court records, on Dec. 24, 2019, she was the driver of a vehicle parked off Highway 87 near Frazee.
A deputy stopped to check on the vehicle and smelled marijuana, and a search revealed 3.66 grams of meth in a plastic baggy inside a pink case and another 3.49 grams of meth in a baggy in a camouflage backpack inside the vehicle.
On Nov. 23, District Judge Michael Fritz stayed adjudication and continued the case. Miller was placed on supervised probation for five years.
She was ordered to serve eight days in jail, with credit for eight days served, and was fined $1,000 plus $1,075 in court fees. She must complete a diagnostic assessment and get a chemical dependency evaluation, and follow the recommendations of both, including aftercare.
