Court news: Ogema man allegedly caught with 30 grams meth, 326 grams weed

Other court cases include solicitation, felony DWI, drugs and fleeing in a motor vehicle.

Marvin Joseph Bellecourt, 49, of rural Ogema, has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony first-degree, second-degree and fifth-degree controlled substance crime.

According to court records, On Aug. 23, agents with the Paul Bunyan Task Force and White Earth Police Department executed a search warrant at Bellecourt’s residence, based on evidence of drug sales there.

The search turned up a medium-sized plastic baggie containing 27.3 grams of meth, as well as a digital scale and a separate 3.9 grams of meth, as well as three baggies of marijuana, totaling 326.6 grams, inside a crockpot.

On Aug. 25, District Judge Gretchen Thilmony set cash bail for Bellecourt at $60,000 or bond at $60,000, under standard conditions of release, or $120,000 bond with no conditions.

Crookston man accused of soliciting sex from underage girl

Joey Rodriguez, 19, of Crookston, has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony soliciting a child through electronic communication.

According to court records, On Feb. 11, the Becker County Sheriff’s Office received a report that Rodriguez had been communicating through Instagram with a Becker County girl, trying to talk her into having sex with him, even after she told him she was just 13 years old. He admitted to law enforcement that he sent the messages to the girl.

On Aug. 24, District Judge Gretchen Thilmony issued a summons for Rodriguez to appear in court via a remote hearing on Oct. 14.

Frazee man charged with DWI after crashing car

Robert Frank Orlando Williamson, 37, of rural Frazee, has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony DWI

According to court records, at 5:49 p.m on July 14, law enforcement responded to a vehicle rollover on Becker County Road 36. It appeared the vehicle had drifted into the ditch and then back onto the highway, where it went airborne and rolled.

Williamson was the driver and only occupant, and a deputy saw a bottle of E&J brandy in the vehicle. He was transported to Sanford Hospital in Fargo, where his blood alcohol level tested at .18.1%.

He was previously convicted of DWI offenses in 2021, 2019 and 2018.

On Aug. 24, District Judge Gretchen Thilmony issued a summons for Williamson to appear in court via a remote hearing on Oct. 21.

Detroit Lakes man allegedly caught with 16.5 grams meth

Justin Michael Buermann, 50, of rural Detroit Lakes, has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony third-degree and fifth-degree controlled substance crime.

According to court records, On Aug. 23, Becker County sheriff’s officers executed a search warrant at Buermann’s residence.

Four baggies of methamphetamine were found near a recliner in the residence, with a total weight of 16.55 grams. Another baggie contained a little over a half-gram of fentanyl.

On Aug. 25, District Judge Gretchen Thilmony ordered him released on his own recognizance, without bail, under standard conditions of release, or $20,000 bond with no conditions of release. His next court appearance is Oct. 4.

Ponsford man accused of fleeing in motor vehicle

Daryl Wayne Moran Jr., 40, of rural Ponsford, has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and felony failure to appear at a sentencing hearing on a 2020 felony DWI charge.

According to court records, On Aug. 20 a White Earth police officer saw a green 2004 GMC Envoy on Pow Wow Highway in rural Becker County without any license plates.

When he tried to pull the GMC over, it suddenly turned back into the lane of travel and turned south on Becker County Road 129. The officer pursued as the GMC went through a stop at the intersection of County Road 129 and County Road 26, and the chase continued through numerous intersections and field trails.

The GMC finally stopped on an empty wooded lot off Old Ball Park Road, and the driver took off into the woods.

He was tracked by a police dog to a nearby residential yard, where a girl told officers that somebody had run into her yard and into their camper. Moran was found inside the camper.

On Aug. 23, District Judge Gretchen Thilmony set cash bail for Moran at $5,000 or bond at $50,000, under standard conditions of release, or $150,000 bond with no conditions.
