The Patriot Ice House on Little Detroit Lake was broken into and burglarized sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning, the Becker County Sheriff's Office is reporting.

The lock securing the fish house was cut and an ice auger and two fish locators were reportedly taken from the building.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information to call their direct line, 218-847-2661.

They're also reminding people to keep their items secure and watch out for anything suspicious on the lake.

The Patriot Ice House is a fish house available for use by all active and veteran military service men and women, first responders, firefighters, law enforcement officers and their families who live in the Detroit Lakes area, courtesy of Ice Castle, Smokey Hills Outdoor Store and American Heroes Outdoors. The organization is offering this free fishing experience from now through Feb. 10.
