Cop blocked: Woman charged with trying to evade police
Misti Lynn Nelson, 28, of Ponsford has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and misdemeanor fleeing a peace officer on foot.
According to court records, on Dec. 23, officers received a tip that Nelson, who was wanted on an active warrant from the Minnesota Department of Corrections, was driving a tan Chevy Tahoe and was at a rural Becker County residence.
A deputy found her inside the running vehicle that was parked in a driveway at the residence. She allegedly tried several times to maneuver the Tahoe around the deputy's squad car, but was successfully blocked each time by the officer. She then allegedly fled on foot, but was caught and arrested after a short chase.
Nelson appeared in court Dec. 24 before District Judge Jay Carlson, who set cash bail at $1,000 or bond at $10,000, with standard conditions, or bond at $20,000 without any conditions for release.
