Police: Mahnomen man randomly fires 11 gunshots on Main Street
MAHNOMEN, Minn. — A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of firing 11 rounds from a pistol on Main Street in this northwestern Minnesota community.
Mahnomen County sheriff's deputies and White Earth police officers responded to a report of shots fired at 8:19 p.m. on Sunday, May 12. The suspected shooter, Chase Gagnon of Mahnomen, was taken into custody without incident, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
The shots were fired randomly, and a motive is not known. Gagnon may have been under the influence of an illegal substance at the time, the sheriff's office said.
Bullet fragments were collected from a damaged window at United Valley Bank, and there was evidence of bullets hitting pavement. No one was injured.
He was being held in the Clearwater County Jail on Monday, May 13.
