Waubun man sentenced for bindle of heroin
Zachariah Michael Bray, 34, of rural Waubun, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime.
According to court records, on April 8, 2018, a tribal police officer saw him in the gaming section of M&W convenience store in Ogema and arrested him on a Mahnomen County warrant. During a search, the officer found a white paper bindle containing about a fifth of a gram of heroin.
Bray appeared in court April 16 before District Judge Gretchen Thilmony, who stayed adjudication and continued the case. He was ordered to serve 30 days in jail, with credit for 14 days served, and must pay $865 in court fees. He was ordered to get a chemical dependency evaluation and follow the recommendations and was placed on supervised probation for five years.
